All the mirrors in my house are fat mirrors.

Fo' real. At uni I seem to have skinny legs. Here they look HUGE. They're stumpy and my thighs are massive. Today I went shopping and couldn't fit into size-10 shorts. ARGH. I go home for 2 days and I'm already getting fat.

Hellooo, workout DVDs!

Been reading another magazine article - they all seem to be relevant at the moment - and this one is about girls who don't really eat, like celebs, and possibly us, who get skinny and you (by 'you', they mean the normal eaters) have to look at them and know they're not healthy yet still feel inferior. They described this one girl's diet: egg whites for breakfast, sandwiches (but just eat the filling) for lunch, and sushi (but get rid of the rice - just eat the fish) for dinner. Hmm. Sounds doable. There was a great line at the end of the article. 'as Jones warns: "Every single one of us could develop an eating disorder in the future." The really worrying thing is that at least a handful of people reading this will be thinking: "Please let it be me."'

Hmm, true.

Went shopping today. Didn't try on many clothes, but a pair of size 10 shorts in H&M seemed snug. Ooer. I seem to be ballooning up before my Spain trip. Whyy? It's not fair.

On the plus side, workout DVDs are going well, though I got interrupted doing one today as I had to eat dinner. The downside of rigid meals.

Still excited to see if I can get my hair done. I'm really loving the dip-dye look. Here's Rachel Bilson working it:

I'm really optimistic it'll look good on me - both Rachel Bilson and Shenae Grimes have very similar hairstyles to me, i.e. long, curly with a centre or semi-centre parting, and similar skin tones too. I only fear it'll go wrong because I don't trust my hairdressers. But I guess I can ask them on the phone whether they can achieve it, and I'll bring that picture in, and this one of Grimes:

She seems to have it slightly more subtle, which looks nice. Supposedly the appeal is that it looks really natural as that's how sun-bleached hair grows out. Never would I have dreamed I'd want a hairstyle that guarantees roots!

Until tomorrow,

  1. Which magazine was this in? I'm curious now, hopefully it'll be online. My hair kind of looks like that, it was blonde with big roots so I dyed it brown and it faded on the old blonde. Loads of people say it looks nice and natural so go for it :D x

  2. ooh those look really pretty! perfect for a relaxing summer look! When I first saw it, I thought of Alexa Chung's hair, it's kind of similar. I LOVE her style, it's so cool and casual! interesting article, I know I was once one of those girls. <3RaeLynn

  3. I hear you about the mirrors! I swear, there's a 10 pound difference between my bathroom mirror and the one by my dresser :/. That's great you have workout dvds because evenwhen the weather's crummy & you can't go outisde, you can still get some exercise inside! I like those hairstyles! I bet you could pull it off easily =). I like the two-toned where it's like a blonde or light color on top and then a darker color on the bottom (that's how I'm going to get mine done here soon) :)
